7:00-8:00 PM: This part of the class will focus on understanding where and how to present your flies, and on how to set-up your leader to achieve the best presentation possible. The class will culminate by building your own series of European nymphing leaders that you will use on Saturday’s on-water session.
8:00-8:20 PM: Class Wrap-up with Q&A session and maps will be passed out to where we will be meeting for Saturday.
Second Class: We will meet on the Middle Provo. I will make sure to look at the flow charts prior to Thursday’s class, and whatever is running reasonably will be the river of choice for the class.
8:00 AM: Meet at Middle Provo. Set up gear, flies, and make our way down to the river.
8:30-9:30 AM: We will do a seine sample, and see what our #1 and #2 most prevalent bugs are in the section of river we will be set up on, and answer any and all questions on the life cycle of the insects. From here, we will spread out, and Nick will demonstrate the proper and improper ways to present your flies.
9:30-11:30 AM: Students will spread out, and work on their technique. Nick will come around and make sure that any and all questions are being addressed and answered. We will focus on fast/deep pockets and shallow fast pockets. *Students will be shown how to rig their flies accordingly for these two water types.
11:30-12:00 AM: Wrap-Up/Questions.

"Western Rivers Flyfisher is so great. Shop employees are beyond knowledgable and will tell you where and how to land the fish in the local rivers (hard to say that about other shops). They'll welcome you in for free coffee to chat about fishing. It feels like a crew of your fishing pals, even if you you just met them. Great people, awesome gear." - Vanessa
